watch plays

17 02 2007

i had a unisilver watch as an anniversary gift from my girlfriend last feb 6th. it’s digital and blue and has a stopwatch and alarm features. some think it’s kiddie stuff. but i like it. the time is easy to read, and it fits just right in my wrist.

this day, my watch seem to be playing games on me. twice, i read 5 same digits in a row accidentally. one was at 3:33:33 pm and another at 5:55:55. the thing is, i didn’t wait to see the numbers flash that way in my watch. i just happened to look at the time and they’re there.

i don’t know what this coincidence means, but i do like the way it put a smile on my face. it doesn’t happen all the time, does it?

letter from the senate

7 02 2007

i was surprised to receive a letter from the senate last night. at first i thought i’d be invited to one of its sessions this year but then i also thought that someone might have read my blog and decided to put me on court. but nah, i know i was just making a big deal out of the thing.

when i flipped the envelope, i saw that it was really addressed to me personally, with my name in bold print – rhemal jay tabuno tamboboy. how in the hell did they know that? and who gave them my address? then i realized that it can only come from my dost profile. so they’re really looking up to their scholars, huh. i wonder if i should be glad.

the letter didn’t really come from the higher house in general but from senator angara. there he outlined his accomplishments as a senator for the past years, the laws he authored and those he is currently pushing. he also added his programs should he be elected as a senator in the coming elections.

and so it turned out that it was simply an election stratagem, although i do find it better than just hearing them babble on tv. at least i knew that this particular senator have authored laws he could be proud of, and that most of them are really good. but then, this particular senator too is on the news for crossing two major political rivers.

i have my apprhensions about senator angara. he may be a man of action in the senate, but his integrity as a statesman remains muddy.

Inbox

21 01 2007

I hate Mondays. I have a 7:40 class, and I always wake up at a quarter to seven. Though that can pump up frustrations and sudden mood shifts, a lot can happen that can change the tide. Sometimes, all it takes is a simple humor in most unexpected situations. Just like what happened today.

I was already late for my first class this morning when I left for school. The jeepney I rode was a can of sardines (a multicab), and we, the passengers were packed just as if we really intend to put justice to the situation. I was near cursing already when this passenger hailed the driver to unload. We were at the middle of the intersection of McArthur highway and Ma-a, so the driver can’t stop. So he said “Hala bawal dinhi dong, sa inbox lang ta, sa inbox lang”.

And so now I know what to call those yellow lines on the side of the roads. Inbox pala yun. I don’t know whether the driver was really serious about that (it seemed he was), but that really iced my temper. Well, let’s just forgive his vocabulary. At least he knows they’re boxes and he knows the rules.

i found a fifty-peso bill this morning. since it was on a public road, i grabbed it, pocketed it, and spent it for lunch. hehe.

hair spa

12 02 2006

i just had a hair spa, something that just came out of the blue. hehe. it was my first time. nothing’s changed with my hair really. think i just wasted 200 bucks. hehe. but it’s fun. the pretty girl (assuming she is at birth) was kinda teasing with me while fixing my hair, and i kinda rode on. she thought me handsome. she told me that inside the shampooing area, or whatever it’s called. all i said was ‘wow’ and she laughed at that. just don’t know what that meant. hehe.

anyway, it’s nice to treat yourself surprises sometimes. you receive surprises in return.
